At Courbanges, a hamlet perched at 1,157 m in the Massif du Sancy, the Volcaflore estate offers several ways to sleep on site, in the middle of the mountains, inside the Parc naturel régional des Volcans d'Auvergne.
For accommodation, you have a choice: the gîte La Grange (sleeps 15), La Montagnoune (sleeps 6 to 8), four unusual lodges for two and two eco-chalets for five. Alongside, a Finnish kota grill, a small chalet with a central barbecue, brings together up to 10 people for a meal. By booking the whole place, you can bring together up to 40 people.
The spirit is clear: calm, nature and sport. Parties are not allowed, so if peace and quiet is what you are after, you are in the right place. Catered dishes and breakfasts can be arranged.
Around you are the Puy de Sancy, the Chaudefour valley, Lac Pavin and Lac Chambon, Saint-Nectaire, Murol and Besse. The GR 30 passes right beside it.
