In the heart of the village of Besse, on Rue Notre-Dame, La Tanière des Loups is all about Auvergne cooking. Two warm dining rooms, a fireplace, a covered, shaded terrace: you choose your spot depending on the weather.
On the plate, the house specialities are Saint-Nectaire fondue and truffade (sliced potatoes with melted cheese). There are also charcuterie or cheese boards. The food is prepared in-house, with regional produce and a stated link with the farmers and producers of the Sancy.
Allow €19 to €36 à la carte (2026 prices). With children, you'll find high chairs, a changing table and options for the youngest. Pets are accepted. To finish, a fleur de lait soft-serve ice cream.
