If you are heading up to Super-Besse, stop on Avenue du Sancy: this bistro cooks over a wood fire, on an open grill. Pork chop, spare ribs, hock and tenderloin come from Maison Pallut, in Condat, in neighbouring Cantal. The beef is Angus of Irish origin.
Alongside the grill, the menu speaks Auvergnat: homemade aligot and truffade, a gratinée of Saint-Nectaire AOP (protected designation of origin), and the Véritable Assiette de Mémé at €30.90 (2026 menu). The pizzas, named Marcel, Germaine or Jeannine, also go through the wood fire.
The burger buns are made on site by the bakery Le Buron des Pains. As for drinks, you choose from the volcanic wines of Desprat Saint Verny. Open all year, Tuesday to Sunday, lunch and dinner (2026 hours).
