Les Templiers occupies a typically Auvergnat house with character, a stone's throw from Place Tyssandier d'Escous, in the heart of Salers. The cooking is regional: Salers beef, pounti, truffade. Enough to keep you going after a day of wandering around the village. In fine weather, you eat on the terrace (seating 40). When it is cool, go upstairs: the room has its cantou, the fireplace corner of the houses here. On the practical side, there is a children's menu and a high chair, and dogs are welcome.
