Auberge Le Pitsounet

Le Pitsounet means “dovecote” in Auvergne dialect. The inn stands at Le Genestoux, between La Bourboule and Le Mont-Dore, on the right bank of the Dordogne, with a view of the Puy Gros.

Here, the dishes are homemade: aligot (mashed potato stretched with cheese), truffade (sliced potatoes with melted cheese), potée (a hearty meat-and-vegetable stew), calf's head, chips, sauces, fondues, desserts. The menu also goes travelling, with Russian specialities. Vegetarian or gluten-free? The kitchen adapts if you let them know beforehand.

Two dining rooms, a terrace with panoramic views, children's menus, and even a space to park your motorbike and keep your helmet inside. Pets are allowed.
