An inn on the shore of Lac de Guéry, the highest lake in Auvergne: seven rooms, Auvergne specialities at the table and a terrace facing the water.
On the shore of Lac de Guéry (1,244 m), the highest lake in Auvergne, this inn is a stone's throw from Le Mont-Dore. The building dates back to the 18th century. In 1881 it became an aquaculture station, then the Grand Hôtel du Guéry in the early 20th century.
At the table, the chef gives a simple new twist to the specialities of Auvergne and Le Mont-Dore: fish from the lake, bilberry tart, Auvergne wines. For a snack or a drink, the terrace looks straight onto the lake.
If you stay the night, seven rooms await you, with views of the lake, the neighbouring volcanoes or the Sancy. Hotel guests have access to a wellness area with a Finnish sauna, reserved for one room at a time. Annual closure from 1 November 2026 (after lunch) until reopening on 16 December 2026.

- The inn closes on 1 November 2026 after lunch and reopens on 16 December 2026.
- In 2026, outside the annual closure, the restaurant and bar are closed on Monday and Tuesday (Tuesday only in February, July and August), and the restaurant serves from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 19:00 to 21:00.
- Booking a table is strongly advised.
