Camping Bois de Gravière

On the southern slope of the Sancy, in Besse, this 4-star campsite stretches out under the trees, between the medieval village and the ski slopes of Super-Besse. Lac Pavin is five minutes away by car, and a path leaves the campsite for anyone who would rather walk up.

In summer, the heart of the place is the outdoor pool, heated to 28 °C, with its secure paddling pool for little ones: in 2026, it opened every day from 15 June to 15 September, from 10:00 to 19:00. Next to it, a wellness area with sauna, jacuzzi and massages. For children, a 500 m² play area, a multi-sport court, pétanque and activities in July and August.

Of the 120 accommodation units, 40 pitches, in shade or in sun, and 28 rentals (mobile homes, chalets) are available to book; the rest are occupied by year-round residents. Wifi, laundry, bread pick-up, takeaway food, parking, pets accepted for a supplement. Open from 20 December to 15 September, straddling the ski season and summer. In 2026, allow from €350 for a stay.

Our take: a comfortable family base for exploring the Sancy without getting back in the car for every swim. And when the sky can't make up its mind, the jacuzzi and the sauna, open summer and winter, save the afternoon.
