Family-run hotel-restaurant facing Lac Chambon, on Rue de la Dent du Marais. Simple rooms, most with a lake view, plus aparthotel units for 4 to 7 people. Restaurant open to non-residents, Auvergne terroir cooking (lake trout, aligot, AOP cheeses). Mains €17-26, menu around €30. Terrace facing the lake in season. Expect €67 to 77 a night in a double room, breakfast €12. Open from February to early November. Free parking.
Top tip
Ask for the lake-facing rooms. Booking direct = sometimes a better rate. Half board is worth a look. Combine with Château de Murol, 5 min away.
