At Orcines, at the foot of the Puy de Dôme, you are already in the Chaîne des Puys, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and ten minutes from Clermont-Ferrand. The Dôme à Bulles plays that card: two cabins perched four metres up, set in the heart of the volcanoes, for a night for two (or four) cut off from everything else.
Each cabin, L'Orée des Sens and Le Temps d'un Rêve, sleeps up to four people: a suite with a queen bed, walk-in shower, fitted kitchen and sofa bed. The real luxury is outside, on the private terrace: a jacuzzi spa bubbling away at 37°C all year round, a sauna just for you, and, in L'Orée des Sens, a suspended net to lounge in above the drop.
Allow €249 to €349 a night depending on the period (prices displayed in 2026, tourist tax extra), breakfast included, delivered to the cabin by a pulley system. Private parking and an EV charging point on site. Weekends book up early: book several weeks ahead.
Our take, honestly: it's the address for a birthday or a night without children. You come for the silence and the jacuzzi at the foot of the Puy de Dôme, nothing else.

Top tip
If you're a morning person, follow up with the climb up the Puy de Dôme at sunrise: you're staying at the foot of the volcano, it couldn't be simpler. For a weekend, book your dates several weeks ahead.
