The final ascent of the Puy de Dôme, symbol of the département, will give you a 360° panorama over other natural regions of the Park and over the line of 80 volcanoes that make up the Chaîne des Puys.

The feel of the route
Follow the paths of reddish pozzolana (volcanic gravel), at the foot of these volcanoes with their differently shaped summits, in the heart of the Monts Dômes. Varied viewpoints, stretches through forest and crossings of Auvergne villages await you along this trek.

Start point near the motorhome car park.
[ Another possible start point: Panoramique des Dômes station at Orcines, at the foot of the Puy de Dôme, for an arrival by shuttle from Clermont-Ferrand (this adds 2 km, so 4 km there and back) ]
