Our take

A free municipal park, half botanical garden, half funfair: sequoias and rare tree species on one side, 1900 carousel and little train on the other.

Twelve hectares of landscaped park dating from 1874 in the very centre of La Bourboule: sequoias, little train, 1900 carousel and rides, entry open to all.

Twelve hectares of landscaped park in the very centre of La Bourboule, laid out in 1874, at 850 metres altitude. The trees have had time to grow, and it shows: sequoias, rare tree species, a perennial garden and a river winding through the park.

The park's other face is the rides section, the one that brings families back every summer: Wild West little train, 1900 carousel, 18-hole mini-golf, dodgems, balance course, around fifteen rides in all, and three donkeys, Chipie, Crunch and Cachou. Entry to the park is open to all: you only pay for the rides, with tokens or a wristband. Between spins on the rides, the free play areas and a picnic fill the rest of the afternoon.

Coming out of season? The park stays open every day, and the walk among the sequoias and the perennial garden is reason enough on its own. In 2026, the rides ran from 4 April to 20 September, with closing days on weekdays outside the school holidays. And the giant slides close in winter.

Why we love it

  • Sequoias in a landscaped park laid out in 1874
  • Around fifteen rides: little train, 1900 carousel, mini-golf
  • Entry open to everyone all year round, rides by token or wristband
  • A perennial garden, rare tree species and a river that winds through

Top tip

Entry is open to all: come even outside the rides season, the perennial garden and the sequoias are worth the walk on their own. In winter, the giant slides are closed, so warn the children before you go in.

Before you go

  • Afternoons in season, when the rides are running
  • Free car parks around the park, on Avenue Agis Ledru.
  • Park entry free. Paid rides: in 2026, a token at €4 (1 or 2 tokens depending on the ride), day wristband at €19 (over 1.20 m) or €17 (0.95 to 1.20 m), €16 per person from four people (Pass'Tribu).
  • Play areas and swings open to all, rides for all ages, toilets with a baby-changing table.
  • Paths accessible with a pushchair.
  • Park entry is free: you only pay for the rides, by single tokens or with a wristband.
  • The rides open from April, following a calendar published by the park: check before promising the children the little train.
  • Picnic areas, a wifi zone and toilets with a baby-changing table on site: a whole afternoon can be spent without leaving the park.
