At Freydefont, 5 km from the church of Saint-Nectaire, this family farm raises goats and dairy cows. The milk is processed on site, by hand, into farmhouse Saint-Nectaire AOP (protected designation of origin) and goat's cheeses: tomme, raclette and lactic cheeses (white, ash-coated or flavoured).
In 2026, the visit is self-guided and free of charge during shop hours. In the morning, from 10:30 (2026 hours), you watch the cheese being made. At the end of the day, from 18:00, it's milking time (2026 hours).
Allow about an hour. We suggest timing your visit for one of those two moments, then dropping by the shop for the farmhouse Saint-Nectaire and an ash-coated lactic cheese.
