Our take
Two styles on the same menu: the Auvergne side, with the Guyonnade of roasted Saint-Nectaire, and more elaborate bistrot plates, such as braised paleron.
A bistrot on avenue Baraduc in Châtel-Guyon: truffade, roasted Saint-Nectaire and bistrot plates, all prepared on site from fresh produce.
On avenue Baraduc, in the heart of Châtel-Guyon, Bistrot La Potée sorts its menu into five sections: sharing boards, starters, mains, specialities and desserts. Every dish is prepared on site from fresh produce.
The Auvergne side comes through in the specialities: the truffade (€20 in 2026), with fresh tomme and country ham, and the Guyonnade, a roasted Saint-Nectaire served with garlic sautéed potatoes and charcuterie (€25 for one person, €38 for two, in 2026). Alongside, more elaborate plates, such as braised paleron (beef shoulder) with its truffle-flavoured crushed potato.
The bistrot serves lunch and dinner, every day of the week (2026 hours). If you're coming as a family, there's a children's menu with a small truffade. And to finish, the menu offers a plate of Auvergne cheeses (€12 in 2026).
