Cascade du Rossignolet

A 7-metre waterfall, about twenty minutes' walk from the free car park of the landscaped cemetery, route de Prends-Toi-Garde, 2 km from the centre of Le Mont-Dore towards La Bourboule. The stream pours over a deposit of volcanic ash (cinerites), then heads off towards the Enfer stream and the Dordogne. At the foot of the fall, the murmur of the water recalls the song of the nightingale.

Allow about 40 minutes there and back for 2 km and 60 m of ascent, on a waymarked path, through woodland and a wet area. The walk can be done as a family: a baby carrier is recommended for very young children, an all-terrain pushchair is possible if you avoid the steps, except in snow or ice.
