A 14th-century belfry in the historic centre of Riom, former seat of royal justice in Auvergne (Riom was the capital of the duchy). The upper part, octagonal with a dome, was rebuilt in the Renaissance. You climb 128 steps to the top. Panoramic view over Riom, the Chaîne des Puys and the Limagne. It serves as a reception point for the Pays d'art et d'histoire Riom Limagne et Volcans (maps, temporary exhibitions). Opening hours, opening period and price change with the season: check that day's slot with the Pays d'art et d'histoire before you set off.
