No-nonsense Auvergne cooking on rue Sainte-Claire: pounti, truffade, aligot and Salers beef in a stone-walled room.
On rue Sainte-Claire, you push open the door of a rustic stone room where the menu is the real thing. The pounti, that sweet-and-savoury terrine from the Cantal, is rarely found elsewhere. Alongside it, truffade, aligot, Auvergne potée, Salers beef and AOP (protected designation of origin) cheeses. Allow €16 to €24 for a main course, €26 to €32 for the set menu. Terrace in season. Open for lunch and dinner except Tuesday lunch, closed Sunday and Monday. Best to book at weekends.
