Our take
What we like is the family story since 1968, across three generations, and you can feel it in the atmosphere. The arcade corner plus the bar mean people happily stay long after the last game.
Auvergne's biggest bowling alley: 34 lanes under the neon lights, a bar that turns out pizzas, waffles and dry sausages, and the Boudou family at the helm since 1968.
34 lanes lined up in the Brézet area, next to the airport: it's the biggest bowling alley in Auvergne, and one of the five biggest in France. You can come as two or as a group of thirty. The venue goes all in on neon and LEDs, 1980s style, with an arcade corner that many people save for the end of the evening.
Around the lanes, a pool table, table football, darts, and a bar that does more than serve drinks. On the food side you'll find 29 cm pizzas, Brussels waffles with sugar or Nutella, and dry sausages to share, with Beaufort or plain, made with French pork. The staff are no-nonsense and the place is well kept, pool tables included, a point regulars often praise. It's the place that works for everything: an evening with mates, a kid's birthday, a work outing, or just a late afternoon when it's raining over Clermont.
Why we love it
- 34 lanes: the biggest bowling alley in Auvergne, among the five biggest in France
- Bar with 29 cm pizzas, Brussels waffles and dry sausages to share
- Pool, table football, darts and arcade games under the neon lights
- A family business: the Boudous at the helm since 1968, third generation
- Birthday deals, groups and seminars of up to 100 people
Top tip
On Friday and Saturday evenings, book your lane online, it fills up fast. During the week, the Bowling à Gogo deal (unlimited games in the evening) is the best value, especially in a group. And if you're coming with beginners, note that the side barriers are reserved for children under 10 and under 1.40 m.
The back story
It all starts in 1968, when Joseph and Gisèle Boudou open the town's first bowling alley: twelve lanes and a restaurant. In 1972, they also open the Clermont-Ferrand ice rink. The bowling alley grows to eighteen lanes in 1993, then to thirty-four in 2003, which puts it among the five biggest in France. Since 2025, it's Thibault and Anthony Boudou, the grandsons, who run the place: third generation, still at 88 avenue du Brézet.
