Our take

In a mountain resort where evening options can be counted on the fingers of one hand, a bowling alley open in the evening in season matters. Six renovated lanes, a bar, reasonable prices: simple, but it really bails you out on a rainy evening or after a day's skiing.

Six lanes, a bar and the interactive quiz I-Quiz, in the heart of Le Mont-Dore: the obvious plan for an evening after skiing or hiking.

The bowling alley in Le Mont-Dore is six renovated lanes with electronic scoring, allée Georges Lagaye, very close to the centre of the resort. Nothing huge, but in a mountain town where evenings quickly go quiet, it makes a real difference. You come with family, with friends, after a day's skiing or hiking in the Sancy. The youngest can have bumper rails from age 7, so nobody ends up with their ball in the gutter. Next to the lanes, a bar to catch your breath between games, and an interactive quiz game, the I-Quiz, if you fancy a change. It's a municipal bowling alley with seasonal opening: summer 2026, every day from 17:00 to 23:00 until 30 August; winter 2025-2026, from 20 December to 29 March, from 14:00, closed on Tuesdays outside school holidays.

Why we love it

  • Six renovated lanes with electronic scoring
  • Bumper rails for children from age 7
  • Bar on site and the interactive quiz game I-Quiz
  • Open in season: evenings in summer, from 14:00 in winter
