L'Empire du Malt, in the Brézet area of Clermont-Ferrand, is the haunt of beer lovers: both a beer bar and a take-away bottle shop. More than 200 beers from around the world sit side by side, from Belgian Trappists to tart lambics, from hoppy IPAs to sours, with expert advice at the counter to help you find your way. You can have a drink on site (allow €4 to €10 depending on the beer), with a charcuterie or cheese board, in a modern, relaxed atmosphere. And on the bottle shop side, the take-away price is about 30% cheaper than by the glass: so you can head off with your finds.
