A former 18th-century manor house, set in the countryside at Salzuit, in Haute-Loire. The renovation has kept the old character of the walls and slipped in today's comfort.
For relaxation, there's the spa (hammam, sauna, jacuzzi, massages and facials) and a natural bathing pool for cooling off outdoors. A tennis court completes the picture.
The restaurant looks over the valley, with large picture windows on the forest side, and serves generous seasonal cooking. People come mainly for the peace and quiet and the nature around.
It's a good base for exploring: Le Puy-en-Velay, the fortress of Polignac, La Chaise-Dieu and the Château de Chavaniac-Lafayette are all within driving distance.
