In the Montagne Bourbonnaise, upstream of Arfeuilles, the Barbenan cascades through its gorges, below the Moulin du Mas, then at the Cascade de la Pisserote.
Be aware, the waterfall is on a private site: the waymarked circuit of the valley does not take you there.
To explore the Barbenan valley on foot, follow the Autour des Biefs circuit (PR no. 26): a 12 km loop, about 3 hours' walking and 332 m of ascent, starting from the hamlet of Les Biefs, straddling the Allier and the Loire. Stay on the waymarked paths, respect private property and close the gates behind you.

Top tip
The waterfall is on a private site, and the waymarked circuit of the valley does not lead to it. To walk along the Barbenan, set off from the hamlet of Les Biefs on the PR no. 26: 12 km, about 3 hours, in good shoes.
