Trip to Thiers (road circuit no. 22)

This circuit gets you to Thiers quickly without too much difficulty. Of course, anyone who wants to explore the city's medieval quarter will have to haul themselves up to the town hall before wandering the pedestrian streets between the cutlery shop fronts and other half-timbered houses. Don't skip the Château du Pirou, where the tourist office is. To come back down from the town centre, you will take the “vallée des usines” (factory valley) and cross the “Creux de l’Enfer” (Hell's Hollow) before reaching the Moutier, where the Orangerie and the logis Abbatial (the abbot's lodgings) are. Those who dread the climbs and Hell can always take the 2nd exit instead of the 3rd exit at the roundabout mentioned in the route description, to go straight to the Moutier.
