The feel of the route
Having left the wilder, wooded part of the Cézallier behind, between Peyrusse and Allanche you will find the summer-pasture landscapes again, and also the view of the Monts du Cantal, the Cézallier and the roofs of Allanche.
The route in detail
Start: With your back to the church, set off to the left on the main road. On the climb, after the bridge, leave this road on the right by taking the grassy path on the right (a sharp hairpin turn).
At the hamlet, keep right and before the last farm, climb to the left facing the slope to pick up a grassy path. 100 m further on, don't miss the discreet path that climbs on the left in a hairpin and follow it until you rejoin a gravel track, then turn left.
At the road, at the T-junction, turn right then at the next crossroads turn right again. Follow the road for 1 km, and at the following crossroads go straight on along the grassy path. 600 m further on it turns 90° to the left.
On rejoining the road, carry straight on towards the forest. Then continue right on the D114 as you reach the forest at the Col de la Croix de Lampres. Then quickly take the path on the left that goes down alongside the forest through the meadow.
At the farm track, turn right until you rejoin the road. Carry straight on to a T-junction and turn right. Just before Maillargues, cross the D114 by the grassy path opposite, then continue right on the main road.
On leaving Maillargues, continue for 500 m before taking the gravel path on the left towards Allanche. Follow this path until you rejoin the main road and continue right, towards the village centre.
