Botany at La Renaudie

Start: La Renaudie

Numerous lecterns dedicated to the trees and shrubs of Livradois-Forez line this path for an essential lesson in botany, enlivened by at least two discoveries: a dolmen and a panorama at the Rocher des Bergères.

The route in detail

Start: from the town hall, climb through the village past the church, then a cross. At the wash house, go up to the right. Follow the path, first tarmac then grassy.

1. Then turn left to go past the water tower. Continue on the path that climbs through the broom (many lecterns presenting the species of trees and plants of the region) and reaches the high point of this walk (viewpoint indicator).

2. Go down to the right of the indicator. Keep to this well-defined path all the way to a road. Follow it to the left for 100 m, then take the first path on the left running alongside this road. At the fork, carry straight on to reach the road that you again follow to the left.

3. At the crossroads marked by a cross (sawmill), take the D 102 to the left for 80 m and immediately take the path on the left (yellow waymarking). At the crossing, go straight on to the D 102. Follow it straight ahead to return to the village.
