API Aventures puts you on the water to canoe down the Allier, over about ten kilometres between the Pont Pakowski and the Pont de Parentignat. You paddle at your own pace, with stops possible along the way, following one of the last big wild rivers in Europe. Wildlife and plants are very much there, with no development to spoil the setting. A shuttle drops you at the start and your car is waiting for you at the finish. 5 minutes from Issoire and 25 minutes from Clermont, a nature escape that's easy to fit into half a day.

Before you go
- Booking is compulsory and made by phone, so don't plan on turning up on the spur of the moment.
- Departures are at fixed times: sort out your slot when you book.
- Closed shoes such as trainers are compulsory, 6 years minimum, and you must be able to swim 25 metres and go underwater.
- Payment in cash or by cheque only, bank cards are not accepted.
