The route in detail
Start from the hamlet of Lavenal. Follow the D 308 (towards Courpière) out of the hamlet then continue along this road to the junction of the D 308 and the D 308a. Turn right and go to Le Pialoux.
(1) In the small square of the hamlet, take the road that leaves on the left between the houses (towards Troisville). In Troisville, go along the pond then continue straight on along the road to enter the hamlet (out and back in the hamlet to admire the fine pisé houses). Come back the same way for 30 m, then take the track on the left between the houses. Turn left onto the road.
(2) In Les Bradoux, go past the wrought-iron cross then follow the road on the left. This road becomes a track that you follow straight on. At the crossing, turn left and follow the track to Ricou. At the entrance to the hamlet, follow the road on the right to La Siarre (360° viewpoint).
(3) Follow the road on the left (viewpoint over Thiers). 150 m further on, go down the road on the left (towards Marcalou). Go along a fine boundary wall then keep going down. In the bend, leave the road to take the track on the right (viewpoint over Sermentizon).
(4) At the road, follow it to the left to a big crossroads. Continue on the D 308a to the left (towards Lavenal). Go 100 m then, after the vines, turn onto the track on the right to rejoin Lavenal. In Lavenal, follow the road on the right to get back to the starting point.
