Discovering Randan and Maringues (road circuit no. 28)

This circuit takes you across the Limagne plain on roads that are often quiet. Good concentration is needed as far as the Croix-Mozat, because you have to follow the route description closely so as not to get lost. As you approach Randan, you will see the ghostly outline of the Château de Randan, of which only ruins remain after the tragic fire of 1925. The site is being restored and its splendid gardens are well worth a visit. Later, you can stop at Maringues, at the foot of the big tannery, to picnic or have lunch in a small restaurant. The return is a bit more physical, since you will be tackling the foothills of the Livradois after Ravel.
