The feel of the route
Swing at 1,000 metres above sea level! Located at the place called “La Pierre de Lune”, at 1,000 metres above sea level, at the foot of Mont Mézenc and the Pic du Lizieux, the Chambon-sur-Lignon golf course offers a round in a wooded, hilly setting, 5,981 metres long, par 72. The history of the golf course began in 1980 with a driving range at the place called Les Châtoux. Two years later, an association was created by a group of enthusiasts to give the golf course a structure. In 1987, the first 9 holes were designed by Michel Gayon. In 1994, the 18-hole course was inaugurated. The course has the particularity of straddling Haute-Loire and Ardèche, and includes 12 ponds. Its exceptional setting and its technical character have forged the soul of the club. The signature hole, number 13, offers an extraordinary panoramic view over Mont Mézenc.
Open from March to November, the golf course has a restaurant with a lovely terrace overlooking the course, a pro shop, a golf school, and courses and lessons with a professional.
The route in detail
This circuit is very varied, with no real major difficulty. The climb up to La Suchère and the descent to the Pont de Mars are on fairly smooth paths. After climbing up to Romières alongside the golf course, the descent to the Lignon is quite stony. Then you pass back through the hamlet of La Suchère to return to Le Chambon-sur-Lignon.
