Municipal campsite in Pleaux, 51 pitches, chalets and mobile homes, with direct access to the municipal swimming pool.

Municipal campsite in Pleaux (Cantal), on the plateau overlooking the Maronne valley and the Enchanet dam. Rated 3 stars: 51 pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, plus chalets and mobile homes. The heated municipal swimming pool is right next door, free for campers (open from 1 July to 31 August in 2026), and the showers are heated. In 2026, the two-person package with car and pitch costs €13 a night, tourist tax included (€16 from 11 July to 28 August), electricity extra (€4). Open from 4 April to 15 November 2026. Hiking trails start from the campsite, and the Longayroux beach is on the reservoir of the Enchanet dam. A practical stop between Mauriac and the Tours de Merle, an hour from Aurillac.

Top tip

Municipal pool included in the price, wristband handed over on arrival, open from 1 July to 31 August in 2026. Combine with a walk to the Enchanet dam and the Maronne gorges. The village of Pleaux is 5 minutes' walk away for the grocer's.

You can set up on your pitch from 12:00, reception is open until 19:00: let them know by phone if you arrive later
A good base for Mauriac, Salers or the Tours de Merle, all within 30 km
Bring walking shoes: several waymarked trails of 6 to 11 km start from Pleaux
