The feel of the route
Get off the beaten track on the GR 430, the Chemin de Saint-Régis:
If you dream of a path to follow in complete peace, the GR 430 is made for you. You walk in the footsteps of the patron saint of lacemakers. This 200 km loop will guide you through a mosaic of landscapes, from the Puy-en-Velay basin to the granite plateau of Montfaucon and the volcanic plateau of the Mézenc-Meygal. Setting off from Le Puy, you will wander at your ease between Haute-Loire and Haute-Ardèche. Take up your pilgrim's staff!
The route in detail
After 2 uphill kilometres to warm up, you let yourself drop down to cross a stream and gain height again (max. 1,140 m at km 9). The rest, mostly downhill to km 20, takes you across a stream and a small valley before a steady climb back up to Montregard.
