11 - Towards Lavalette

Start: Tence

The start is easy along the Lignon. A short, steep climb then takes you up to Utiac. After the village of Chenereilles, the trail winds along the banks of the Lavalette reservoir, with some lovely stretches through the woods, sometimes very technical, as far as the hamlet of Lavalette. You then have to climb up to the Château de La Borie (15th century), a small military building typical of the region. The last 8 kilometres are fairly hilly all the way to Tence.

The feel of the route

Between Lapte and Saint-Jeures stretch 220 hectares of water. Lavalette is a mountain lake set amid greenery, fed by the waters of the Lignon. A haven for leisure and nature, where every little cove offers a new landscape and every patch of water a new playground: catamaran, pedalo, dinghy, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and even an electric foil…
